Wilson reaches 200th win as coach

Fonda-Fultonville is proud to announce that Athletic Coordinator Eric Wilson recently earned his 200th win as coach of the boys varsity basketball team.

The 200th victory was earned when the team beat Fort Plain 67-50 on Friday, Dec. 16.

“No one wins a game by themselves,” Wilson said. “I can’t take credit for this because I’ve been a part of so many great teams. This is a milestone that was earned by more people than just myself, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

“Eric is more than a coach – he’s a mentor for the students and a role model for the coaches he serves as athletic coordinator,” Superintendent of Schools Thomas Ciaccio said. “Fonda-Fultonville is fortunate to have him because he’s the type of coach you want your child to play for. He doesn’t just teach skills on the court, he teaches lessons that serve our students well in life.”

Wilson has been a high school science teacher for Fonda-Fultonville since 2000. He was hired as the athletic coordinator in the 2012-13 school year.
